The same AFL line can pay differently at two bookmakers

Keep the selected club and line together

A line bet is defined by the selected club and its signed points line. If one bookmaker offers the home club at −7.5 and another offers −8.5, the two bets can settle differently on an eight-point win. Sorting those two payouts into one best-price list would hide the most important number.

The AFL comparison groups a club's −7.5 quotes separately from its −8.5 quotes. It also keeps the other club's positive line separate. First identify the fixture in the official AFL schedule; then use the exact line to identify the bet.

Compare returns only inside a matched row

At an identical −7.5 line, decimal odds of 1.97 return more than 1.91 for the same winning stake. With $50 staked, the total returns would be $98.50 and $95.50. The $3 difference is the price-shopping gain in this illustration, not a prediction that the selection will cover.

Check whether both quotes apply to the same settlement period and are still available. If a bookmaker lists only one side of a market, or a line has no second comparable quote, show that limitation instead of naming an overall winner.

A better line is a separate decision

A bettor might prefer −7.5 at a shorter price over −8.5 at a longer one. That choice depends on the possible scoring margins and the bettor's own assessment. The odds table can show both choices; it should not collapse them into one ranking.
