AFL venue checks before comparing bookmaker odds
Keep the fixture and venue attached to an AFL price, particularly around venue changes and interstate rounds.
Identify the fixture first
Use the AFL fixture to confirm both clubs, the scheduled venue and local bounce time. Two meetings between the same clubs can have different home sides and grounds. A bookmaker price belongs to a particular event and period, so a team-name search alone is too loose to support a comparison.
Separate venue context from a price claim
Ground size, travel and weather may be relevant to an AFL preview, but none of them proves a particular total or line is mispriced. A venue note should state the sourced fact and leave the bookmaker quote as a separate observation. If the venue changes, recheck the market's event identity and current availability before comparing the price with an older capture.
Match market and number
For total points, compare over 165.5 only with over 165.5 on the same match and period. For a line, retain the selected club and signed handicap. The best listed payout at a different ground or on a different line is not a like-for-like alternative.
Worked example
Illustration: Club A at +7.5 and 1.91 on one fixture cannot be ranked against Club A at +7.5 and 1.95 in the return meeting. Those are distinct matches even if the clubs and line happen to match.
